A selection of murals painted in homes and gardens around Bolton, Manchester, Wigan, Preston, Blackpool and the rest of the UK.
Mel's Diner features in the classic movie American Graffiti - An iconic movie for all hot rod fans. The brief for this commission was to paint the infamous diner as it appears in the movie but to replace all the movie's cars with the client's mint green '59 Cadillac and his friends' cars too.
Each of the cars had to be photographed at the right angle of perspective in order to seamlessly fit into the mural.
The end result is beautiful and was such fun to create.

This is a gorgeous mural painted in a swimming pool room.
The photos don't do it justice but the way the colours blend in the sea and on the wet sand takes you away from life's toils.
Brushes and rollers were used to create this mural. It was sealed to protect from damage caused by chlorine or dampness.
I love clients with crazy ideas. The brief was to turn the spare loo in to some kind of comic book hazardous zone with warnings of potential radiation.
Before the craziness began!
After the craziness!
Radiation meter storage cupboard!
Pipes, cables, rivets and other stuff I don't fully understand.
I'm not fully sure what this was from memory. It's probably a boxed off area where the stairway cuts up into the floor. What it is now I'm not fully sure of either!
Another great mural from years ago! My favourite part of this mural was this African Pied Crow I chose to paint to contrast nicely with the sandy coloured background. It turned out the client's close relatives were farmers and HATED crows and I had to paint it out. I thought they were joking, but no, deadly serious, the crow had to go.
A cheeky monkey holding the light switches.
Distant elephants in the savanna
This was a large mural that spanned the width of a 30ft living room, but the muted tones set it back nicely.
This mural was painted using rollers, brushes and airbrushes.
Distant elephants
Flying saucers painted in a bathroom!
Space effect painted on the surrounding walls.
A fun and exciting mural to paint!
Airbrushed space effect.
Space walls and ceiling.
This bathroom mural was painted with a combination of brushes, rollers and airbrushes.
Blossom mural painted in a summer house.
Beautiful greens compliment the natural effect exterior.

For this mural the brief was to paint the client's three Harley Davidsons on the wall parked outside a diner. He sent me photos of the bikes in the correct perspective so I could put a visual together in Photoshop.
A close up of Harley No. 1. Also take note of the people in the windows of the diner!
Here's Harley No. 2!
And Harley No. 3!
A nice little job and a lot of fun to paint!
Okay, back to the brilliant client's house to paint a fun stairway to the upstairs of his Garage.
Once again he was looking for something a little different!
The brief was something along the lines of Giger art but he was pretty open to anything.
The wall is 100% airbrushed on top of a gloss white base.
The paint is extremely durable and fully wipeable with mild detergents.
If I was to paint something like this again I would like to add rusting effects and leaking pipes.
This was a test panel I painted many moons ago to try out some trompe l'oeil effects.
I like the softness of the colours and the woven baskets.
A detail shot of a basket.
Blossom painted on a bedroom wall.
The wall has a glittery glaze and silver has been used on parts of the blossom to add a sparkle to the design.
I have painted several blossom walls but I love the simplicity of this one the most.
Brushes and paint pens were used on this mural.
Detailed close up of the blossom flowers and glitter.
Another close up showing the fun loose style of the mural.
Faux panelling painted in a dining room.
Here's the room with a lick of fresh paint before the work started.
For this commission I was working with Karen Gray Interiors. Karen colour washed the walls with glazes and I began adding the faux panels.
The finished room.
The opposite wall.
Gold paint adds a nice touch to the work.
An unusual brief - the client wanted to feel she was looking out to the beach while she sits on the toilet. The bathroom was to become a beach hut with a wood frame veranda/balcony. The mural is split into two illusions - turning the back of the bathroom into a rustic wood effect, and turning the front of the bathroom into a trompe l'oeil balcony with a sea view.
The door frame is painted to match the illusion of the wooden balcony. Footprints lead to the sea.
The view from the toilet shows a wooden walkway down to the beach and footprints in the sand to the sea. Unfortunately I've just realised I don't have a photo from the seated viewpoint so the walkway looks off from this angle.
A cheeky herring gull stands above the doorway.
The rear of the bathroom is painted to look like wood panelling.
The ceiling is painted to look like a beautiful summer sky. Real fairy lights hang from the fake balcony frame.
A beautiful scene painted in a bathroom alcove. Ignore the potted tree for now, I changed it to something more pleasing.
As mentioned above, the painted plant was replaced with something much more decorative.
The floor tiles in the mural are painted to match the real tiles in the bathroom. Ignore the customer's green masking tape, she'd been painting the skirting boards.
A close up of the view from the balcony.
The floor matched tiles create an optical illusion.
Drying in the sun, or topping up a tan?
Faux broken plaster effect on the walls of a hall, stairway and landing.
Broken plaster and keystone effect painted throughout a hallway and landing.
Brushes and glazes were used to create this effect.

Another blossom bedroom mural. This time on a rich shadowy blended wall.
