I have been obsessed with art all of my life. As a child, most of my spare time was spent doodling and developing my artistic skills.
After many years of creating art for a hobby, I set up my art business 'Wet Paint' in 1995 as a blend of custom sign work and airbrushed motorcycles. Over the years my work has moved more towards wall murals although I do still undertake creative sign work and any custom painting jobs that come my way. I simply let it flow where the commissions take me and I am open to consider most projects, large or small.
In 2000 I merged Wet Paint with 'Pete's Signs' operated by the late Pete Ball but we had differing business ideologies and I returned to working alone shortly after. I marked the new beginning by renaming the business 'Big White Frog'. The phrase 'big white frog' was originally grunted during a chat between Pete and I a year or two previously while chatting about a potential commission of a large frog sculpture. We simultaneously paused and thought what a cool name for a business but annoyingly my memory of the actual frog sculpture in question has now completely evaporated (along with the commission itself). Pete and I went our separate ways and Pete became Signs At Large while I claimed the infamous Big White Frog, much to Pete's amusement.
Since 2009 I have been frequently commissioned to paint murals for television makeover shows such as Cowboy Builders, Hollywood Me, Builders - Bang To Rights and Love Your Garden. It's not always easy trying to fit in long distance projects at short notice within my already tight diary, but the stress is worth it and it's lovely to be involved in making other people's lives a little better.
This work also led me to paint a large mural in TV presenter Dom Littlewood's living room and other celebrity works in the pipeline.
In 2014 I was a contestant on Channel 4's Draw It. Although I beat my opponent, I missed out on winning the jackpot!
In 2017 I relocated to Westhoughton, Bolton and married Nicki whom I met at whilst modern jiving. In 2019 Nicki and I brought baby Blake into the world whom I hope has been gifted with a flair for creating art...
